Local MP Sarah Teather urges Brent residents to take part in Parking Shops consultation

As part of their proposed changes to how people pay their parking fines and buy their permits, Labour-run Brent Council are planning to close the borough's two parking shops in Willesden and Wembley. Local MP Sarah Teather has today urged Brent residents to take part in the Council's consultation on the closures to ensure that suitable alternatives are provided elsewhere. The Labour-run Council's plans will compensate for the loss of face-to-face service by expanding the online provision. However, this has raised concerns that those without easy access to the internet will be unable to use the new system. While Brent is one of just five local authorities in London that have dedicated parking shops, many other London Councils provide parking services at customer service centres where people can buy permits or pay parking fines in person.
