Visiting an old friend  

Angie visited one of her constituency association's oldest and longest-standing members, Derek Fenton, for tea. Derek sadly lost his wife Iris recently and Angie dropped in to keep him company. They took the opportunity to discuss a number of issues important to Derek, including trying to persuade the Government to include St John's Ambulance as a recipient of the special Diamond Jubilee Medal, which is to be awarded to a number of organisations who have served the country providing essential public services. Angie is taking this up with the minister responsible. After she left, Angie said "It was lovely to spend time with Derek. He has been such a wonderful and generous supporter of our association over many years. It has been a very sad time for him recently, but he still hasn't lost that sparkle that we all know so well." ...
