Freeze Council Tax

The Coalition Government have offered Redcar and Cleveland Council an extra £1,422,000 to spend on local services (equivalent to a 2.5% increase in council tax) in lieu of raising council tax. Instead of accepting this offer the Council have decided to increase the burden on hardworking local people by raising the amount of tax they pay by 3.5%. If you would like to display a window poster urging the Council to freeze Council Tax, please call (01642) 490111. Please consider adding your voice to the campaign to put real pressure on the Council to reconsider: "We, the undersigned, call upon Redcar & Cleveland Council to think again, freeze Council Tax and accept the Government's £1,422,000."
