Alexander welcomes Citizens Advice report on unfair delivery charges

Highland Lib Dem MP Danny Alexander has welcomed survey results published by Citizens Advice Bureaux in Scotland which reflect widespread unhappiness in rural Scotland with the delivery surcharges applied by some mail-order and online retailers. Mr Alexander has highlighted the issue of unfair delivery charges in the past – and has helped persuade a number of companies, including Avon, Asda & BHS to stop applying surcharges to rural customers in the Highlands & Islands. In the summer, he met with Highland Council Trading Standards officers to discuss their role in stamping out false and misleading advertising claims.
