In my Courier Article, I looked at the latest news for manufacturing. I'd be interested to know your views, please comment below. As we come to the end of the year there has been some good news emerging regarding our international trade. The latest figures on the value of UK trade to non-EU countries published last week shows that our exports to the rest of the world have increased by £1.3 billion in October, this is up 20% from last year. This shows that despite the problems ongoing in the Eurozone, we are seeing our trade increase in those emerging markets which are the key for our economic future. Manufacturing has had a big role, and will have a big role, in achieving increases in exports to emerging markets and as the co-Chair of the Associate Parliamentary Manufacturing Group I am keen to promote the importance of manufacturing in Westminster.
