Glasgow North MP visits local cancer lab
THE work of leading charity Cancer Research UK was put under the spotlight recently when Ann McKechin, MP for Glasgow North, visited a science lab in Glasgow. On the visit to the city’s Paul O’Gorman Leukaemia Research Centre, Ann learned first-hand how researchers were dedicated to beating cancer. Glasgow is home to a thriving community of world-class cancer scientists and doctors who are working to reduce the devastating impact of cancer. Last year Cancer Research UK was able to invest over £20 million in the city supporting their outstanding work, something that was only possible thanks to the generosity of the charity’s supporters.
