Ann appointed to Business Select Committee

Ann has been appointed as a member of the Business, Industry and Skills Select Committee at Westminster.  The Committee examines the administration, expenditure and policy of the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and its associated public bodies, including Ofcom and the Office of Fair Trading (OFT).  Ann, who spent more than 17 years in private practice as a solicitor and ran her own business, responded to her appointment saying: “I am delighted to be joining the Business, Industry and Skills Select Committee, particularly at such a crucial time for the economy.  When inflation is soaring, wages are frozen and unemployment continues to rise, it is crucial that the Government gets its growth policies right, and from the revised figures we keep seeing, there is clear evidence that its current policies are not delivering the growth the UK so desperately needs.
