Alan Johnson lecture to mark politics anniversary at the University of Hull

Alan will be talking about his constituency as part of a public lecture series to mark the 50th Anniversary of the University of Hull’s Department of Politics. Alan will be giving his lecture entitled ‘Representing Hull’ at the Middleton Hall on Monday 24 October. Over the course of the session, Mr Johnson is expected to discuss his life as the Hull West and Hessle MP and the challenges he has faced during his time in the seat. Mr Johnson says: “It’s a great privilege and honour to be elected to represent Hull. The city has a remarkable Parliamentary history and was a prominent defender of Parliament in the Civil War. I hope to be able to convey a sense of the excitement of national politics when it is combined with representing local issues and experiencing the outcome of decisions in the House of Commons on the lives of constituents.” The University’s Department of...
