Alexander urges Highlanders to join expanded Credit Union

Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch & Strathspey MP Danny Alexander is urging Highlanders to take advantage of the new Hi-Scot credit union, following a visit to Stornoway on Friday where he opened the organisation's newly refurbished offices. The Credit Union has been operating in the Western Isles since December 2006, but its remit has recently been extended to enable members to join from right across the Highlands & Islands. Mr Alexander, who has joined the Credit Union himself, said: "I am very pleased to mark Hi-Scot Credit Union's expansion to cover the Highland mainland. Its success in the Western Isles in just five years shows just how valuable its flexible and personalised services will be to Highland communities.
