My new website will be online shortly. It has taken considerable time to develop and I want to set out why. First, I decided immediately after the election that I wanted to replace my campaign site – of which I was proud – with the best possible new website.  I also decided that this should be paid for out of my own campaign funds and not by the taxpayer.  This meant raising the money for development. Secondly, although I was determined to have the best site possible, I decided that it was a lower priority than getting my office operating as efficiently as I wanted.  I have written in my Evening Star column about the challenges of setting up a parliamentary office – and I am willing to admit that it has, at times, been a struggle!  During a campaign, no constituencies have an MP.
