Parliament is back, and now sits until 21st December. Last week, I took advantage of our recess to make a number of local visits. I spent quite a while in the Ilchester area – visiting RNAS Yeovilton and Ilchester Cheese (now “Norseland”) on Wednesday, Ilchester Primary School on Thursday, and holding my first Advice Centre in Ilchester on Thursday evening. On Thursday I also visited the Citizens Advice Bureau offices in Yeovil, and on Friday I visited Westland Helicopters, the Home Education Centre in Chard, and Chard Hospital. On Friday afternoon, I opened “Bishops Court”, the new retirement scheme in Chard, and then held a Roving Advice Centre in the early evening in Merriott – it was very odd, but pleasant, to be able to stroll around the streets in shirt sleeves in mid October!
