Diane announces she will stand for Shadow Cabinet
Diane confirmed today she will put herself forward for a place in shadow cabinet. Diane announced her intention to stand in a speech to Labour Party Conference earlier today. She spoke in a session in conference hall this morning on Crime, Justice, Citizenship and Equalities with Alan Johnson MP and Jack Straw MP. Diane said: “In his acceptance speech, our new leader Ed Miliband said I ”spoke distinct truths to this party that needed to be said and it is important that your voice continues to be heard.” Since then many members of Parliament from all wings of the party, both colleagues and supporters alike, have encouraged me to put my hat in the ring for the shadow cabinet. I believe that having spent three months on the road in a very collegiate leadership contest which helped to rebuild the party and bring back thousands of members, I would like to play my part...
