Wallingford developer loses appeal

Wates, who wanted to build 100 houses in Winterbrook, have lost their appeal, having been refused planning permission from the Council.  This now gives us a great opportunity to go back to the drawing board, and draw up a great masterplan for Wallingford.  I very much hope the Council will embrace Sir Terry Farrell's work, and work with him, but I am not hopeful.  I am not against development in Wallingford - in fact, the town needs more houses.  But I am against a simple "extension" to the town, and would like to see a more imaginative scheme, and I am concerned about the number of houses being planned. ...
