The blog doesn't gloat. The blog doesn't take pleasure in the misfortunes of others. The blog is a stranger to schadenfreude.Therefore the blog merely raises a wry smile at the hubris shown by those Burnley fans who crowed when their team went temporarily above our team in the league, back in the heady days of the late summer of 2009. You'll all be familiar with the fate of Achilles in Homer's Iliad so I won't bore you with it here; suffice it to say that, in the Premier League as in Greek tragedy, hubris is followed by nemesis: Burnley 0, Blackburn Rovers 1.
