Inspirational Edmonton Eagles  

The name "Edmonton Eagles Amateur Boxing Club" may be getting more and more familiar to you.Recently the club was awarded the Club of the Year prize for its community work at Enfield's Celebrating Sports awards night at the Lea Valley Sports College. And prior to that, Head Coach Costakis Evangelou was honoured with the Jack Petchey Foundation Leader Award for his work in coaching and mentoring the club's ever-growing membership.This week was the awards night for the Kids Count Inspirational Awards in the Houses of Parliament. I had nominated Edmonton Eagles for their community spirit in protecting and fostering the well-being and development of young people. Sadly, they didn't get selected on this occasion, but this doesn't take away from their previous awards.To describe Edmonton Eagles as a boxing club is to massively undersell them.
