Cool Gordon

Why is Gordon cool? It was a new Gordon Brown at Prime Ministers Question time today.   He maintained his cool. He was quietly in charge in a gale of synthetic rage. Cameron finds it hard to fake anger. He went from low rant to hyper rant in a yell of contrived indignation. The House laughed uproariously. Part of the reason is that we on the labour backbenches thought Cameron said that the Tories had won the 'Cod' War.   They did not. Iceland won the Cod War. Quite an achievement considering that we had a Defence budget of £20billion and Iceland has no Defence budget whatsoever. But, no it was the cold war victory that he was claiming. Even odder. As Gordon reminder him, he was in school at the time or perhaps in the Bullingdon Club. The carefully rehearsed mock rage may have a sinister source. Cameron's tribute to the late Michael Foot had a sting in the tail about disarmament...
