Constituency boundary changes
The Parliamentary Boundary Commission is one of the least known parts of our political system, yet its decisions directly affect how we are represented in Parliament. It is an independent body charged with reviewing the boundaries of parliamentary constituencies and putting forward changes to reflect an increase or fall in the local population. Its first duty is to ensure as much as possible that constituency electorates are equal in size. Local community ties are taken into account but as a secondary consideration though at the momemnt the rules do not allow constituencies to be created that cross county boundaries. At this next General Election all the constituencies in Bucks will change. For example, Marlow will move from the Wycombe to the Beaconsfield constituency.
