Ashcroft to be questioned  

Total of British soldiers killed in Afghanistan = 268We will invite the interview-shy Lord Ashcroft to a meeting of the Public Administration Committee (PASC).   It would be a discourtesy not to ask him to contribute to the session we will have to investigate the details of his appointment. PASC has an unimpeachable record of political impartiality. We have been thorough in revealing Labour Government wrongdoing when we have discovered it. The Ashcroft affair is central to our work. It has been been raised repeatedly by us, especially by Gordon Prentice the Pendle MP who put in the FOI request three years ago. The session will be in the week after next. Those responsible for approving his appointment will be invited.
