SCOTS WAR HERO RECEIVES FRENCH AWARD

Speyside Second World War hero Duncan Morrisonhas received a special French military award for Normandy veterans. The war hero from Dufftown who was unable to attend D-Day commemorations earlier this year was presented with the Normandy Bar by local SNP MP Angus Robertson on behalf of French authorities. Duncan Morrison, who lost his British medals in a house fire, says he is delighted to have received the French Award. Angus Robertson MP says it was an honour to present Duncan with the Award: “ We owe our liberty to veterans like Duncan Morrison and I am delighted he has been recognised by the French authorities. “ Having lost his own wartime medals in a house-fire I am glad that he now has a French Award and I am in touch with the Ministry of Defence to get replacements for the British medals.” ...
