League Secretary John Grant has claimed that the recordings are a breach of copyright. In a letter to Mr Grant Angus Robertson MP and Richard Lochhead MSP say:  ” This situation is totally out of all proportion. David Smith is a football mad teenager whose non-profit films are accessible to the elderly, housebound and Highland League fans around the world. We think that threatening five thousand pound fines is totally inappropriate in the circumstances. Our soundings from supporters and club officials indicate little support for punitive sanctions.
