EXPENSES- THE LEGG ENQUIRY: ‘NO ACTION REQUIRED’

Hilary Armstrong MP  has not been asked to pay back any money or provide further information about the expenses she has claimed. Earlier this year the Prime Minister asked Sir Thomas Legg to conduct a thorough audit of all MPs' expense claims from April 2004 to March 2009. The letter Hilary received from Sir Thomas Legg Stated: “Having examined the records in the light of my interpretation of the rules and standards in force at the time, I have not identified any payments made to you under the ACA during the review period which I consider call for any repayment or supporting evidence to be provided by you…My conclusion is that no action is required from you in this matter.”  On the subject of expenses Hilary said: “I have always sought to act honestly and to give the public a good deal.” ...
